Thank You for electing me!
Hello everyone, if you don’t know me, my name is Andrew Nichols (not to be confused with Andy Nichols). I have lived full-time on Lopez Island for 9 years, I have a 17 year old step son who is currently in the 11th grade at the school. My hobbies include solar power projects, board games, video games, and DJ’ing.
One of my goals as your newly elected School Board member is to increase transparency and communication with the community — this blog (and website) aims to do that. I hope to chronicle my work and share the things I’m learning with the island. Whether you are a parent, grand-parent, guardian, student, or a resident of the island, I want to represent you and help improve the school district.
I am starting a program I’m calling Dinner Table Talks, wherein I will personally cook a dinner for a family on island. I want to meet parents and their kids and hear about the programs they like at the school, the areas where their family is struggling and anything else I can do to better represent the parents on island. If you are open to this idea, please reach out via the Dinner Table Talks sign-up page.
